This Privacy Policy explains how Beta Maniac ("the Application", "we", "us", or "our"), developed by independent developer Mirko Dimartino, collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our Android application.

We are committed to respecting your privacy and adhering to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Google Play Store Developer Policies.

1. Information We Process and How We Use It

a. Google Account Credentials & Web Cookies (Essential Functionality)

To scan your installed applications and manage beta testing programs (joining or leaving testing tracks via Google Play's web endpoints), Beta Maniac requires you to authenticate with your Google Account.

Local Storage Only: Your login credentials, session tokens, and authentication cookies are stored strictly locally on your device (using Android encrypted preferences / private storage).
No Third-Party Transmission: We never transmit, collect, or store your passwords, authentication tokens, or session cookies on external developer servers. All communication happens directly between your device and Google's official endpoints via HTTPS.

b. Installed Applications & Package Names

Beta Maniac accesses the list of applications installed on your device to:

Compare them against available Google Play beta testing programs.
Keep track of membership status (e.g., OPEN, CLOSED, JOINED).
Processing: This data is processed locally on your device. We do not maintain a remote database mapping individual users to their installed apps.

c. In-App Purchases and Subscription Data

In-app billing and subscription lifecycles are processed directly via the Google Play In-App Billing API.

We do not store or have access to your credit card numbers, bank details, or direct payment data.
The Application queries Google Play's inventory locally to verify whether you hold an active Premium/Pro license.

2. Third-Party Services

The Application may utilize third-party SDKs strictly to ensure stability and monetization:

Google Play Services / Google Play In-App Billing: For handling store licensing, in-app purchases, and in-app review prompts. (Google Privacy Policy)
Advertising (Free Tier only): If you use the ad-supported version of the Application, advertising networks (e.g., Google AdMob) may collect pseudonymous identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID) and crash logs to serve compliant advertisements. Pro users do not receive third-party ads.

3. Data Retention and Security

All sensitive session tokens and local preferences are purged when you log out within the app or uninstall the Application from your device.
We implement industry-standard local security measures (private application sandbox storage) to protect against unauthorized access.

4. Your Rights under GDPR

If you reside within the European Economic Area (EEA), you possess full rights under the GDPR:

Right to access, rectify, or erase any personal data held locally.
Right to revoke consent or log out at any time directly through the Application settings.
